Leah July 8: Olympic National Park

Today we traveled to Olympic National Park. Before we got to our campsite we stopped at Kalaloch Visitor’s Center. Then we drove to Ruby Beach. When we got there we walked down there and we played on the sea stacks for a long time, then we started walking down the beach. When we decided to go no further we looked around and saw starfish! There were tons of them. They were purple and orange and they were really hard to the touch. We went back because the tide was coming in.

When we got back to the motor home we had lunch and took off again. We drove until we got to our campsite, the Forks 101 RV Park. After we got set up we went into Olympic National Park. We did a hike called the Hall of Mosses. It was ¾ of a mile. We saw 3 different kinds of mosses: we saw licorice fern, club moss, and lichen. After we finished it we started to drive to the RV. When we go to the Hoh River we stopped for a few minutes. We went to Pacific Pizza for dinner. Then we went to bed.

Matt July 8: A Long Day

Again we traveled to a new campground for the second day in a row. This campground is called Forks 101 RV Park. After we arrived at the campsite we went to the Hoh (ho) Rain Forest. There we hiked the Hall of Mosses. On the trail we came across a stream with a lot of moss. The water was so clear you could see the bottom.

After the hike we journeyed our way back to the camper. Before we got there we went down to the Hoh River. At the RV Park we went to dinner at the Pacific Pizza Parlor. It took a long time to get our food and drinks. Then we went to the RV park and went to bed.
